There are also diagrams and drawings in the text. Binding has later calf spine; wear to corners; covers rubbed. Text and plates are generally very good; plate 7, as folding frontispiece, has tear along bottom portion of tear into the specimen area but not affecting any image. The plates were done by W. Kelsall from Dr. Charles Goring's observations and drawings and are among the most striking examples of early microscopical illustraton.
