This is an original edition of a dissertation by Rozir where he provides mathematical and historical discussion and information for the eliptical movement of Comets, most notably that which initially attracted interest of Flamsteed (First Royal Astronomer), Halley, Hevelius and Newton in 1680 and 1682. The obervations of 1680 and 1682 provided the basis for Newton to consider the theoretical aspects of a comet travelling around the sun and this observation was part of the impetus for Newton to write the Principia. In the third book he provided the theoretical information on the movement of the comets as observed in 1680 and again in 1682. In his diseratation Rozir includes reference to work of other notable astronomers viz. Tycho Brahe, Hevelius, Flamsteed, Halley and, notably, Newton and his mathematical theory of comet movment. The text is complemented with 5 woodcut drawing of comet trajectory or mathematical diagrams to complement text discussion. Very scarce title with only one library listed in OCLC as having this dissertation.
